Our History

LuvWine began as an idea during one of our annual Family Christmas festivities, after a few too many bottles of wine and the nasty after-effects the next morning.

The idea sparked numerous conversations, which led to subsequent meetings with viniculturists, and we soon established the common source of every wine lover’s morning-after headache… SULPHUR DIOXIDE (S02)

Sulphur Dioxide, as a preservative, is added to various fruit and wine products. Sulphites are formed during fermentation which again are often the cause of allergies.

After further research into how to counteract the effects of Sulphites (S02), LuvWine was born.

For us, LuvWine was developed to enhance your wine experience.

About LuvWine

LuvWine is a completely natural and safe product. which reduces the preservatives in wine, champagne, beer & cider. The reduction in the preservatives can help prevent side effects, including headaches & wheezing, a stuffy nose, hives and other reactions to wine.

Sulphur dioxide is used during several steps of the winemaking process. It is added to prevent the unwanted developments of microorganisms, as an antioxidant, to inhibit polyphenol oxidases (laccase and tyrosinase) and as a dissolvent.

However, sulphites can have a negative impact on wine sensory properties, can delay the onset of malolactic fermentation, and can cause some health concerns in case of high concentrations in the final wine. That’s why Sulphite levels in wine are regulated. On wine bottles, “contains sulphites” must be displayed on the label when found above 10 mg/L. Consequently, it is important in the winemaking process to control and manage the SO2 content of wine in order to maintain the lowest possible concentration while preserving its interesting properties.

LuvWine comes in an 8ml spray bottle that fits in your pocket or purse.
